Relationship between epicardial fat tissue thickness and CRP and neutrophil lymphocyte ratio in metabolic syndrome patients over 65 years

چکیده
Rationale: There are no data evaluating the association of neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and C- reactive protein (CRP) with epicardial fat tissue thickness (EFTT) in elderly metabolic syndrome (MS) patients. In this study, we tried investigate relationship EFTT CRP NLR patients over 65 years.

Relationship between metabolic syndrome and epicardial fat tissue thickness in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
OBJECTIVE An increase in epicardial fat tissue (EFT) thickness was found to be associated with metabolic syndrome (MS) and ischemic heart disease. MS is a comorbidity of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) resulting from the accompanying systemic inflammation. The aim of our study was to investigate the usefulness of EFT thickness to predict MS in COPD patients. METHODS COPD patients...
متن کاملEpicardial Fat Thickness and Neutrophil to Lymphocyte Ratio are Increased in Non-Dipper Hypertensive Patients
BACKGROUND In this study, we aimed to investigate the relationship between echocardiographic epicardial fat thickness (EFT), neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR; an important inflammatory marker), and diurnal blood pressure (BP) changes in patients with recently diagnosed essential hypertension. METHODS A total of 647 patients underwent echocardiography and 24 hours of ambulatory BP monitorin...
متن کاملRelationship between epicardial adipose tissue thickness and vitamin D in patients with metabolic syndrome.
INTRODUCTION Metabolic syndrome is a systemic disorder and manifests as a group of conditions including abdominal obesity, dyslipidemia, hypertension and coronary artery disease. The importance of epicardial adipose tissue has been proven through recognition of its contribution to inflammation by pro-inflammatory cytokine discharge. Several investigations have been performed on vitamin D recept...
متن کاملThe relation between epicardial fat thickness and metabolic syndrome
We read the article Usefulness of the epicardial fat tissue thickness as a diagnostic criterion for geriatric patients with metabolic syndrome by Kaya, et al. The authors aimed to evaluate the epicardial fat tissue thickness (EFT) as a diagnostic criterion for geriatric patients with metabolic syndrome (MetS). They concluded that EFT levels were higher in geriatric patients with MetS and can th...
متن کاملThe Relation of Epicardial Fat Thickness, Neutrophil to Lymphocyte Ratio and Circadian Rhythm of Blood Pressure
Is this issue of the journal, Kim et al. 1) aimed to explain the association between epicardial fat thickness (EFT) and neutro-phil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) as systemic inflammatory markers in hypertensive patients according to diurnal variation of blood pressure (BP). They concluded that EFT and NLR are independently associated with impaired diurnal variation of BP in hypertensive patients. R...
